get to know me
storyteller. Researcher. Teacher.
I am an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Nebraska Omaha. A learning scientist and literacy specialist by trade, I study the intersections of the identities we build and the stories we tell in community, in family, and across our lives. I believe that learning is ontological, a process of becoming a certain kind of person, and I am excited by the ways that young people leverage disciplinary tools and media to express their stories. My work is almost always focused on participatory design and community collaboration. Right now, I’m serving as a fellow on the Tell All the Truth project and for the Campus Compact Engaged Scholars Initiative. You can find my writing in The New Educator, Education Policy, and most recently in a book that will be linked as soon as it’s released from IAP. Thanks for visiting today.
